Historians study the past by ordering historical events in time; but, what are the main unit of time?

  • Minutes. 1 minutes = 60 seconds.
  • Hour. 60 minutes = 1 hour.
  • Day. 24 hours = 1 day.

  • Fortnight (quincena). 2 weeks (15 days) = 1 fortnight.
  • Month. 30 days (4 weeks) = 1 month
  • Year. 12 months (365 days) = 1 year.
  • Lustrum (lustro). 5 years = 1 lustrum (5 years-period).

If events happened before the birth o Jesus Christ, we write...

If events happened after the birth of Jesus Christ, we write...
A.D. Anno Domini (Déspues de Cristo).

Historians have divided the history into periods.
